"Wei ass et?" or "Ech schwaetzen bessen Lëtzebuergesch"
this is Luxembourgish and means "How are you?" and “I speak a little bit of Luxembourgish."
Learning Luxembourgish online is something that you can do free of charge since 2008 and highly recommended if you would like to work in Luxembourg: employees of the public sector have to master the local language and private companies are requesting more and more their staff to learn Luxembourgish, a way to bridge the cultural gap and increase social inclusion as well as to improve career development.
On this purpose the online language course "Lëtzebuergesch léiere online" has been developed by the QuattroPole network in cooperation with the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. The working group "e-learning" within QuattroPole organised the proposed modules and is providing the IT support allowing the web access to the course for English, German or French speaking citizens of the QuattroPole region. Since the opening of this online course 19,000 registrations have been successfully performed and most of the online learners can say now "ech schwatzen Lëtzebuergesch"! Join us for this exciting adventure!
QuattroPole is a cross-border network of four cities, Metz in France, Saarbrücken & Trier in Germany and the city of Luxembourg, that is meeting the challenges of the future, together, in a Europe that is growing closer.
