French Government awards
Officier in Order of Arts and Letters to Vice Mayor Angela Spizig

French Ambassador to Germany Mr Maurice Gourdault-Montagne presented Vice Mayor Angela Spizig with the Order’s gilt medallion, an eight-point, green-enameled star during a ceremony held on 18 July 2011 in the historical city hall of Cologne.

Vice-Mayor of Cologne, Angela, a founding member of GCD and member of the Steering Committee, is not only dedicated to the Information Society, ICT and GCD, but also to Culture. Her significant contributions to the arts, literature and their dissemination has been recognised by the French Government and the French Minister of Culture, who nominated her an Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters, one of the most prestigious awards to be conferred in France.

We congratulate Vice Mayor Spizig on this well-deserved honour, and her many friends in Cologne were so pleased to be able to celebrate this important moment with her.
