For the World Digital Solidarity Agency (DSA) one of the main priorities in 2010 is given to e-education projects in Africa in co-operation with the French Government. Myself, as director of DSA based in Lyon (France), would like to present the Sankoré programme, a “digital education for all”, which was part of the Franco-British initiative. It is dated 27 March 2008 launched by the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the French president Nicolas Sarkozy and it is aimed at creating an open partnership with other countries for - “Reaching the objective of universal primary education for all by 2015” - “Educating 16 million children in Africa by 2010”» - “Recruiting and training an extra 3.8 million teachers”.

Indeed Sankoré is a web portal of interactive digital resources in French language designed for African teachers. The programme aims at providing African primary and secondary schools e.g. with IT-equipment, including interactive whiteboards (IWB) and at facilitating African teachers to create digital teaching contents and sharing them with educational collaborative communities.

Please find HERE the leaflet in English.
