Digital Solidarity

Digital Solidarity has been a GCD activity area since its creation. Several Digital Solidarity projects have been implemented among members.

The Digital Solidarity Task Group aims first at providing useful information on existing programmes, initiatives or projects focussing on this issue. The Digital Solidarity Task Group would like to recommend the Sankoré programme, a digital solidarity programme for Africa in the educational field.

Sankoré is a "twinning programme" aiming at providing participating school classes from French cities and African cities with up-to-date digital equipment and educational resources (including free access to the Sankoré educational portal). In the spirit of digital solidarity, French cities are invited to sponsor the implementation of Sankoré in their African twinning cities or any African city they would like to support as well as in their own schools. The twin classes get the same equipment and are given the means to exchange teaching materials and concepts, and to promote an intercultural exchange between students.
